Witnesses: Teens crashed into Lakewood home, ran off

LAKEWOOD, Colo. - Witnesses say three teenagers ran after the car they were riding in lost control and crashed into a house in Lakewood Friday morning.

Pictures from the scene show a red car at an odd angle, tangled up in a garage door.

The crash happened at West First Avenue and Newland Street near Kane Park. Lakewood police told 7NEWS a stop sign was hit in the area.

Witnesses told police that there were three people in the car, all of them between 15 and 18 years old.

Police said a building inspector was called to the scene to make sure the house is inhabitable.

The teens in the car have not been located.
