When's the next solar eclipse in Colorado? Not until 2045

DENVER – If you missed today’s solar eclipse, you’ll have to wait awhile for another chance to see an eclipse in Colorado.

The next time an eclipse will be visible in the Centennial State isn’t until Aug. 12, 2045.

The good news is that the path of totality will pass directly over the state, so you won’t have to travel to see the eclipse in its full glory. In addition, that eclipse falls on a Saturday so it won’t be necessary to take any time off work.

On that date, the total eclipse will begin in California and stretch across the continental United States, ending in Florida. The path of totality will be wider than this year’s eclipse, allowing for more people to see the full eclipse.

There’s also another eclipse coming in 2024, but its path of totality won’t go over Colorado.
