Wheat Ridge police searching for ‘armed and dangerous' suspect

WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. – Police are warning the public about an “armed and dangerous” man who’s wanted in connection to a report of gunshots fired in Wheat Ridge Monday night.

Officers said they responded to a home in the 4000 block of Reed Street around 9:30 p.m. Armed with a gun, the suspect reportedly kicked in the door of the home and chased two people down the street, according to police. Officers said the man, who has not been identified, is known to people in the home.

Police said there was a report of shots fired but nobody was hurt.

The suspect is described by police as a Hispanic man in his mid-30s, 5 feet 9 inches tall and 220 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen leaving the area in a white vehicle of some kind.

Police said the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous and anyone who spots him should not approach. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call Wheat Ridge police at 303-237-2220.
