WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. - Wheat Ridge police have made an arrest in the death of man found stabbed outside his home.
Police said they arrested Nate Vernon Fischer, 25, on suspicion of first-degree murder for the homicide which occurred in the 4600 block of Miller Street on Sunday.
Police said barking dogs tipped off the people living at the home that something wasn’t right. When they went to check, they found their roommate outside in a puddle of blood.
According to Wheat Ridge police, the victim is a 26-year-old white man. Police have not released the man's name.
Neighbors told 7NEWS the homeowner had recently bought the house and had been working to fix it up. He lived there with two roommates.
"I see him all the time out there working in the yard,” said Deb, a neighbor who didn’t want to give her last name.
