DENVER – If your name is Erin and you own a home in Colorado, you’re in good company.

Erin is the most "popular" name among the state’s homeowners, according to a new analysis from real estate website Zillow.

The site looked at property records to determine the most common names for homeowners nationwide and found that John and Robert are the most common, overall. But there’s quite a bit of variation when looking at individual states, as the above map shows.

The report doesn't highlight strictly the most common names, but rather those that are "overrepresented," meaning there's a high number of homeowners with those names compared to the rest of the country.

That means that in Colorado, you're more likely to encounter a homeowner named Erin than in other parts of the country, though it's not necessarily the most common name.

Zillow also looked at which names are most common among homeowners with the most expensive houses.

In Denver, that would be Anne, with a median home value of $430,701. Nationally, Stuart came in at number one.

So what does this mean? Not a lot; it’s mostly just a bunch of correlations.

If anything, the prevalence of certain names shows some regional differences in the popularity of those names (like Willie in the South) and immigration patterns (Salvador is the most common in California and Guadalupe is most common in Arizona and Texas).
