Wells Fargo Bank robbed in Cherry Creek shopping district; police say suspect fled scene

DENVER - Authorities in Denver said they are investigating a robbery at a bank in the Cherry Creek shopping district.

The robbery occurred at 9:44 a.m. Tuesday at the Wells Fargo Bank at 3155 E. First Avenue in Denver, according to the Denver Police Department and FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force.

A man entered the bank, presented a note demanding money, and fled.

He was described as a black man in his 50s, about 5-feet-10-inches to 6-feet tall, with a medium to heavy build.
