DENVER - A Weld County man pleaded guilty to charges in a plot where police said he planned to drug a friend in order to have sex with his daughters.
According to police records, Alan Glen Smith admitted the plot to his roommate.
The roommate called police and told them that Smith said he wanted to invite a male friend and his two young daughters to his Greeley apartment, said Heath Montgomery of the Weld County District Attorney's Office.
The roommate said that Smith said he "wanted to give his friend a sleeping pill so he could have sex with the friend's daughters," Montgomery said.
Deputies then arranged an opportunity for Smith to buy Ambien, a prescription sleeping aid, from a Greeley Walgreens. Deputies arrested Smith when he showed up at the pharmacy to buy the Ambien.
Smith pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit sex assault on a child. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 3.
