WB I-70 closed at Edwards due to multiple crashes on highway

EAGLE COUNTY, Colo. - Westbound Interstate 70 was closed on Thursday in Edwards in Eagle County due to multiple crashes, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

The closure was at exit 163, about 15 miles west of Vail between Avon and Eagle.

The highway reopened around 2 p.m.

Traffic used nearby US 6 as a detour route during the closure.
