DENVER - Part of 18th Street is being re-paved Wednesday night after a water main break.

Denver Water said a 12-inch line broke around 4 a.m., flooding 18th Street at Curtis Street.

During repairs, 18th Street is closed between Curtis and Arapahoe streets.

Denver Water said it initially expected the work to be finished by 3 p.m. on Wednesday with all lanes reopened before the afternoon rush hour, but at noon, Denver Water said the work would likely take until 4 p.m.

Officials said the break should not affect water service in the area.
