GREELEY, Colo. – The Weld County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help finding a teenager who’s accused of making threats toward the sheriff’s office.

Deputies said Tyson Edward Mercer, 15, told his mother he wanted to “shoot up the Weld County Sheriff’s Office SWAT bay and command bus.” Mercer has made several threats to kill law enforcement officers if they make contact with him, deputies said.

Mercer should be considered armed and dangerous; deputies said he is believed to have a 1911 .45 caliber and a Ruger LC9.

Mercer was last seen in a 1990s faded red Subaru Impreza hatchback driven by an unidentified 17 to 20-year-old Hispanic man.

Anyone with information on Mercer’s whereabouts should call the Weld County Sheriff’s Office at 970-356-4015 or Northern Colorado Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or 1-800-444-3776.
