DENVER – The start of fall is still a few days away but transportation officials in Colorado are already thinking about winter.

The Colorado Department of Transportation has already begun hiring road maintenance workers, including snowplow drivers, for the winter driving season. CDOT is hiring permanent and temporary positions with both full-time and part-time schedules.

Positions are available around the state, including the Denver metro area, the I-70 mountain corridor, the Western Slope and the plains. CDOT said most positions will begin in November.

Interested applicants must have a Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License in Colorado and must have experience with heavy equipment.
