WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. — A video posted on Facebook capturing a litterbug in action is getting people talking, including the police.

The video has gotten over 500,000 views and appears to show a woman dumping trash in the middle of a Wheat Ridge parking lot. The man behind the camera, Rich Law, confronts the woman, asking “Is that the most appropriate place for that?”

The woman ignores the man and drives off, leaving the pile of trash behind.

In response to the video, Wheat Ridge Police took to Facebook, posting a community pride message and thanking those who alerted them to the video.

Police say the video was captured last week in front of Applejack's liquor store. They noted they have been working to contact the owner of the vehicle.

Denver7 reached out to the woman Monday night, but she wasn't interested in talking on camera.

The man who filmed the incident and confronted the woman is catching some flack for the way he publicly shamed the woman.
