SUV found after man shot during carjacking in Denver early Thursday morning

Police: Victim hospitalized in stable condition

DENVER - Denver police were searching for a man and a woman after a shooting and carjacking at 2602 Jasmine Street early Thursday morning. That's near East 26th Avenue and Monaco Parkway.

The victim was shot in the upper body and was hospitalized in stable condition, Denver police tweeted at about 4:15 a.m.

Police officials said they are looking for a man and a woman who left the area in a green or gray Chevy Blazer with Colorado license plates. Denver police tweeted a possible license plate number for the Chevy of 082 YJF.

The Chevy was found abandoned at East 28th Avenue and Marion Street at 12:54 p.m. by Denver city workers. The Chevy's rear driver-side window was blown out and there appeared to be a bullet hole in the side of the SUV below the shattered window.

A Ford station wagon at the shooting scene had bullet holes and investigators told 7NEWS there may have been some kind of argument between the people in the two vehicles.

Investigators think the carjackers may have been in the Ford initially, and left in the Chevy.
