'Veterans Crisis Command Center' opens in Fort Collins to help vets, families with medical benefits

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - The American Legion will have experts available in Fort Collins today to help veterans and their families with health care benefits.

The group said it will have a "Veterans Crisis Command Center" July 15-18 at American Legion Post 4. The post is at 2124 County Road 54G.

Members of the American Legion national staff, local Legion members, staff from VA facilities and volunteers from other organizations will be available to help.

A Veterans Affairs Department internal investigation found that employees at the VA medical clinic in Fort Collins were instructed to falsify records to make it appear that patients were getting appointments close to the day requested.
