Vail shoplifters suspected in $145,000 fur coat thefts

VAIL, Colo. - Vail police are looking for two high-end shoplifters suspected of stealing $95,000 and $50,000 coats from two stores over the weekend.

According to police, a "unique fur coat" was stolen from a Vail store on Saturday. On Monday, police investigating the first theft discovered a second theft of a fur coat that occurred at a different store on Sunday.

Police said two suspects were caught on tape committing the Sunday theft but also said they aren't sure if the two are connected to the first theft.

One of the suspects was described as a thin, white male speaking in an eastern European language. He is believed to be about 50 years of age. The female suspect was described as a short, white women with dark brown hair and is believed to be in her mid-20s.

Police released two grainy surveillance photos of the man taken in the store that suffered the Sunday loss.
