Top 14 Colorado high schools named

U.S. News and World Report is out with its annual list of the best High Schools in the country.

The website looked at graduation rates, college readiness, how disadvantaged students perform and other factors.

"We reviewed 29,070 U.S. public high schools; 123 Colorado schools made our rankings," the website said.

Fourteen schools in Colorado earned a gold medal in the rankings:

  1. Peak to Peak Charter School, Lafayette
  2. KIPP Denver Collegiate High School, Denver
  3. DSST: Stapleton High School, Denver
  4. D'Evelyn Junior/Senior High School, Denver
  5. Liberty Common Charter School, Fort Collins
  6. The Vanguard School, Colorado Springs
  7. Fairview High School, Boulder
  8. Denver School of the Arts, Denver
  9. Telluride High School, Telluride
  10. The Classical Academy High School, Colorado Springs
  11. James Irwin Charter High School, Colorado Springs
  12. Crested Butte Community School, Crested Butte
  13. Evergreen High School, Evergreen
  14. Cherry Creek High School, Greenwood Village
