BOULDER, Colo. - University of Colorado quarterback Jordan Webb and former Buffs lineman Alexander Lewis have waived their rights to preliminary hearings in an assault case.
The Daily Camera reported a judge granted the waivers Monday.
Witnesses told police that 22-year-old Air Force Academy cadet Lee Bussey was knocked unconscious in May when Lewis shoved his head into a brick wall. Lewis and Webb allegedly pushed him to the ground and punched him.
Webb's attorney said he believed Webb's role in the incident was non-criminal, while prosecutors disagreed.
Lewis transferred to Nebraska just hours before the incident.
