United States Postal Service admits community mail box master key recovered after theft

DENVER - The United States Postal Service says a community mailbox master key and other items were stolen last week.

The theft happened in the Montclair area of Denver on April 1.

The master key has since been recovered.

The USPS told 7NEWS the incident is under review by the postal inspector, who would review any security breach.

While the USPS won't say exactly how the items were stolen, they did say the items were stolen from the "vicinity of the carrier’s vehicle."

Neighbors told 7NEWS they are concerned about identity theft and want the locks on their community mail boxes changed.
