Uber and Facebook are making it a little easier to get home on New Year’s Eve.

Customers in Denver can now have a conversation and order an Uber ride all within one app. Facebook wants people to be able to make plans with friends and find a safe ride in one place.

Users can tap an address to order a ride, or use the car icon on the bottom of a chat window. Messenger will provide the updates from the driver.

Facebook Messenger users will have to update their apps if their phones haven’t done so automatically.

The first ride using this new Messenger feature is free – up to $20. That may not work for customers on New Year’s Eve. Uber often surges prices based on demand.

This isn’t the only new Facebook Messenger feature that could come in handy on New Year’s Eve.

If Uber isn’t for you, remember RTD is offering free service for the holiday.
