Two suspicious devices investigated in Aurora

Bomb squad called to possible explosives

AURORA, Colo. - Aurora police are investigating two possible explosive devices that were found on Saturday evening.

Police were called out to North Peoria Street and Fitzsimons Parkway at 8 p.m. after a person spotted what looked like a live grenade near a trail at Sand Creek Park.

Aurora police also responded to the 3000 block of South Kalispell Way on a different suspicious item. Aurora police said a homeowner found a cylindrical item containing a liquid in their mailbox.

Police said the grenade at Sand Creek Park was a dummy grenade and not dangerous. They said the cylinder in the mailbox tested to not be explosive.

Police said they are investigating both cases and are still determining what the liquid is.
