WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. - The ramp from eastbound Highway 58 to eastbound Interstate was is closed after a semitrailer rolled over as it came around the bend.
The truck rolled over at approximately 3 p.m. spilling its load of gravel.
About 90 minutes later, Wheat Ridge police announced the ramp will remain closed for three or four hours.
"Thankfully, the driver only had minor injuries. As you can see, it could have been a lot worse," Wheat Ridge Police tweeted.
Several other trucks have rolled over on the same ramp, including four that spilled thousands of beer cans on July 5 and July 25 of this year and on Sept. 27, 2012 and August 2011.
"That is a ramp for us that was built in the 50s and 60s and a ramp that no longer meets today's standards," said a CDOT spokesperson after a previous rollover. "It is on our list as something to replace eventually, it's just a question of funds."
The area is marked with a sign indicating a tipping danger for tractor-trailers and is marked for 40 mph.
