WELD COUNTY, Colo. — Troopers are looking for a driver of a stolen car who caused a fatal crash in Weld County Thursday morning.

The Colorado State Patrol said the driver of a stolen Toyota crashed into a Chevy pickup on Weld County Road 45 around 7 a.m. The 48-year-old male driver of the Chevy was killed. His identity has not been released.

The driver of the Toyota was given a ride, possibly to an area hospital, by a passerby just after the incident.

Troopers also believe the suspect was in the area before the crash and may have hitched a ride with someone to or from a Love's truck stop in Hudson.

Authorities are asking anyone who may have given a ride to the suspect to contact the State Patrol at 303-239-4501.
