Transient reports sexual assault in Boulder County

Woman hit in head several times with rock

BOULDER, Colo. - A female transient reported she was sexually assaulted early Thursday in the 700 block of Gold Run Road, in Boulder County.

According to the sheriff's office, the 54-year-old woman living in the Boulder area said she was sexually assaulted after being hit in the head several times with a rock in Foothills northeast of Boulder at about 4:45 a.m.

After the assault, she was able to find a passerby who drove her to Boulder where she received medical attention and reported the crime to law enforcement.

 Sheriff’s deputies searched the Gold Run Road area and located a man matching the description provided by the victim.

The suspect, 31-year-old Kyle Swanson, was taken into custody without incident.  Swanson was arrested for investigation of sexual assault and first-degree assault, according to sheriff's office statement.
