Train hits abandoned car in Brighton early Wednesday morning

BRIGHTON, Colo. - A train hit an abandoned car in Brighton on Wednesday morning, according to the Brighton Police Department.

It happened on Egbert Street, between 2nd and Cabbage avenues. That's near Highway 85 and Highway 7.

John Bradley, with the Brighton Police Department, said the 1999 Toyota Camry was reported stolen Tuesday night. The car was hit shortly after 4 a.m.

Investigators believe the car was abandoned on the track.

No one was hurt.
