Toddler falls from pickup; man struck by car in Commerce City

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. - A 3-year-old boy fell out of a moving car Thursday evening and was seriously injured.

According to Commerce City police, at about 5:30 p.m.,  the boy was riding unrestrained in the back seat of a 2002 Dodge 1500 pickup truck with three other children while his father was driving.  The boy opened the rear door of the truck and fell onto the roadway at E.60th Ave. and Highway 85.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and his condition was not available Thursday night. 

About 15 minutes later, a 64-year-old man was struck in the 6500 block of E. 72nd Avenue as he was crossing the street, police said.

The man was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.  The driver remained at the scene for police.

The Commerce City Police Department Accident Investigation team is investigating both accidents.
