Gardeners in Colorado will tell you Mother’s Day is usually the earliest you want to get plants in the ground in your vegetable garden.

However, there are some hardy plants that you can plant outside now and others that you can plant inside and then transplant outside when the weather warms up.

Brien Darby is a horticulturist at the Denver Botanic Gardens.  In the video above, she shows Denver7’s Dayle Cedars the types of vegetables you can plant outdoors and indoors right now and what you can do to get the soil in the rest of your garden ready for additional plantings later this spring.
