LONGMONT, Colo. - Longmont Police said they arrested a 13-year-old student Friday after reports that he was seen carrying a gun around Timberline K-8 School.
After a search Friday, police said they found an Airsoft replica pistol that was painted black inside the school.
No shots were fired.
Police said the student will be charged with interfering with school facilities and false reporting -- both are misdemeanors.
He is being processed at the Longmont Police Department and will be transferred to the Boulder County Juvenile Detention Center.
No other details about where the gun was found were released.
Officers said the school was placed on a lockdown during their search and that all other students were secured inside classrooms, then evacuated after officers confirmed there was no danger.
Holding hands, the lines of children were escorted to school busses to be taken to Skyline High School where they could be reunited with their parents.
