LOVELAND, Colo. - A teacher in the Thompson School District is being charged with sex crimes and investigators are trying to determine if there are more victims, police said.
Loveland Police said a school resource officer called them in mid-October and said a teacher was allegedly involved in criminal activity with a 16-year-old female student.
After interviews and computer forensics, the district attorney has charged Gawain Jay Roberts, 35, of Fort Collins, with two felonies -- sexual exploitation of a child and criminal attempt of sex assault on a child by one in a position of trust.
Roberts has been with the Thompson School District for six years.
Anyone with information pertaining to further inappropriate behavior by Roberts is asked to call Detective Brian Koopman at 970-962-2248 or Detective Jeff Pyle at 970-962-2274.
Detectives said they are still searching Roberts' computers and cell phones.
