ASPEN, Colo. - Two teens avoided juvenile detention for their roles in an October pepper-spray incident at Basalt High School that hurt nearly 50 people.
Aspen authorities say the 16-year-old boys terrified officials because authorities didn't know what chemicals were used.
According to the Aspen Daily News, one teen pleaded guilty Monday to reckless endangerment and obstructing school operations and got two a sentence of two years of probation.
The other boy, described as an accomplice, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor reckless endangerment and received one year of probation.
Both were also sentenced to community service.
