Teen girl uses mace to escape kidnapper near 30th and Fillmore in Denver

DENVER - A teenager told police that she sprayed mace at a man who grabbed her on a Denver street Thursday.

The 14-year-old girl told police she was walking on Fillmore Street, near 30th Avenue at 3:50 p.m. when a man walked up to her and tried to start a conversation.

The teenager told police that the man got upset that she didn't want to talk to him, grabbed her arms and told her, "Let's go to my house."

The girl told officers she pulled out her pepper spray, sprayed the man in the face with a visible orange dye and she ran off.

Denver Police told 7NEWS the suspect was described as a black man, about 20 years old with short black hair and a chin strap-style beard. The man was 5-feet-8-inches to 6-feet tall and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans at the time.
