Teen armed with gun robs elderly woman in parking lot of Lowes Mercado grocery store, police say

Denver police are looking for the gunman who robbed an elderly woman in a grocery store parking lot over the weekend.

The armed robbery occurred Saturday at the Lowes Mercado grocery store on South Federal Boulevard and West Louisiana Avenue, Denver police said.

An elderly woman was in that parking lot when a Hispanic male in his late teens, armed with a gun, robbed her, Denver police said.  He was wearing a red baseball hat, black shirt, and black pants.

The teen was seen driving away in a silver Mitsubishi sedan with a temporary license plate and a rosary hanging from the rearview mirror.

On Tuesday, police released a picture of the exact vehicle while it was in the lot.

If you recognize the vehicle, or the description of the teen, call Denver police or Crimestoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867). You can remain anonymous and be eligible for a $2,000 reward if you have information that leads to the teen's arrest.

The teen should be considered armed and dangerous so if you suspect someone, do not approach him.
