EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. - A 29-year-old teacher is accused of sexually assaulting more than one student at Widefield High School in El Paso County, authorities said.
Lee Edward Riddle was arrested Wednesday on a warrant for sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office said in a news release. He's being held at the county jail on $25,000 bond.
The sheriff's office received information on Friday about a possible sexual assault by a teacher that occurred at the high school.
Over the next several days, the deputy assigned as the school's resource officer along with detectives investigated the case and conducted several interviews.
The investigation revealed Riddle "had inappropriate contact with more than one student," sheriff's officials said.
The sheriff's office said no further information would be released because of the ages of the juvenile victims and the nature of the sex offense.
Anyone who has information about this investigation or knowledge of additional victims is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 719-390-5555.
