Tanning bed limits for teens approved in Colorado

DENVER - Tanning bed limits for teenagers have won initial approval in the Colorado Legislature.
But the vote Thursday in a House committee came after several doctors and health advocates testified the bill doesn't go far enough.
The bill bans minors under 15 from indoor tanning beds without a doctor's note. Teens 15 to 18 would need parental permission every six months. Colorado is one of the few states that don't restrict youth tanning bed use.
The bill passed a committee on a 9-2 vote
Lawmakers in 25 other states are reviewing tighter restrictions on young people tanning, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.
