ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. – A system-wide shutdown has crippled services offered by Arapahoe County, including the county’s motor vehicle division.
The shutdown was caused by a server power outage and was first reported around 9 a.m. Wednesday. There is no estimated time of when services will be restored.
The county’s motor vehicle division is limited. However, Arapahoe County officials say residents can still renew plates by using recently-installed automated kiosks.

Security officers were turning away people trying to renew or apply for a driver's license at the Arapahoe County offices in Centennial.
Passport applications, tax payments and marriage applications are still being accepted, but human services clients will need to apply for benefits online.
The county’s public assistance hotline is down but emergency and crisis hotlines for the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office are operational.
