Wounded gunman taken to hospital after shootout with SWAT team in Jefferson County

62 phones sent emergency notice about the standoff

MORRISON, Colo. - A gunman wounded during a shootout with a SWAT team in Jefferson County was taken to a hospital and neighbors are being told the situation is over.

The residents had previously been warned to stay away from doors and windows because of the standoff in Morrison. 

The emergency notification was sent to 62 phones registered to residents along West Grand Drive.

Around 1:30 p.m., spokeswoman Jacki Kelly said deputies were trying to talk the armed man out of a home. She also said the incident began with a call for deputies respond to a domestic dispute. When they arrived, they found the man was armed.

No officers were injured during the shootout.
