AURORA, Colo. - A Reddit.com user from Aurora posted a photo of a suspected laptop thief after his laptop was stolen last week.

The user, who identified himself as reboundmc, posted in the Denver section of Reddit that the thief took the laptop from a van parked in a lot next to Lowry Golf Course.  The thief missed several other laptops in the van and two rolls of quarters, the poster said.

The laptop contained a tracking program called "Prey" that allows a user to gather information regarding the device's location, hardware and network status, and optionally trigger specific actions on it.

The software took a photo from the laptop computer and forwarded it to the owner, which he posted on Imgur.com.

The laptop owner said he was able to determine that the thief had even Googled for help,  trying to find out how to change the administration password on the laptop.

7NEWS has reached out to the laptop owner and will update this story if we get additional information.
