DENVER - A man suspected in a deadly shooting last week in Littleton was caught early Wednesday morning in east Denver.
Joshua Hoppe was wanted for the murder of 55-year-old James Robert Barnes, who was shot in front of a home at 555 West Peakview Avenue last Wednesday night. The weapon was later found nearby, Littleton Police said.
Family at the home told 7NEWS they think the two were fighting over Hoppe's ex-girlfriend at the time.
The Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force helped track Hoppe down at an apartment complex just north of Leetsdale Drive and South Quebec Street overnight.
7NEWS Photojournalist Jay Hutcheson was there as officers with the Denver Police Department turned Hoppe over to the Littleton Police Department around 2 a.m. Wednesday.
Hoppe, 32, did not speak as he was cuffed and readied for transport.
Hoppe is expected in court in Arapahoe County Wednesday morning. Littleton says he is being held without bond.
