DENVER - A suspected bank robber was arrested in Black Hawk, Colo., after two banks were hit in the Denver metro area.

Police said Thai Cao, 27, was arrested on Christmas Eve following the Dec. 23 robbery of the US Bank inside the King Soopers at 1927 S. Wadsworth Blvd., and the Dec. 24 robbery of the TCF Bank at 1554 California St.

The robbery suspect passed a note to the teller at the bank, according to Sgt. Randy McNitt of the Lakewood Police Department.   The note indicated the robber was armed and it demanded money.

No weapon was actually seen by the teller, but the teller did hand over some cash.  A surveillance photo shows the robber wearing a hat that said "USA."

Cao is currently being held in the Gilpin County Jail on a parole warrant, pending the filing of charges for the two bank robberies.
