COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado Springs police arrested a suspect in connection with the Amber Alert issued for 2-year-old Essence Lovato.

Colorado Springs police said Tonia Shetina, 28,  was taken into custody Wednesday night.

Shetina is charged with second degree kidnapping and motor vehicle theft.

Police said they found Lovato unharmed at a home near Fountain on Wednesday after receiving a tip based on the Amber Alert.

Her mother gave Shetina permission to drive Lovato to her grandfather's home. The pair never arrived at the grandfather's home and authorities issued an Amber Alert early Wednesday morning.

Just after 3 p.m. Wednesday,  police received a tip based on the Amber Alert that Shetina was at a home just south of Fountain, Miller said.  At about 3:30 p.m., police investigators and El Paso County sheriff's deputies went to the home and safely recovered Essence.
