DENVER - Streets are closed in Aurora, Denver and Lakewood as thousands of people run the Colfax Marathon Sunday.
"This race is a celebration of the Mile High City," Race Director Creigh Kelley explains. "We originated on Colfax and have expanded to include so many great city landmarks and neighborhoods, like Denver Zoo, old town Aurora, and the historic homes along Montview and 17th Avenue."
There will be full and partial closures of Colfax Avenue from Aurora to Lakewood continuing as late as 1 p.m. Drivers are urged to avoid Colfax Avenue and Speer Boulevard all together. Roads that cross Colfax and 17th avenues could experience significant delays.
Users of RTD Lightrail and bus service should also expect some delays for certain routes. Click here for more information: http://www3.rtd-denver.com/
