Stranger offered boy a ride near Castle Rock Elementary School Tuesday, police warn

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. - A stranger approached a boy near Castle Rock Elementary School and offered him a ride Tuesday afternoon, police warn.

The boy said the man was driving a maroon SUV with tinted windows, according to the City of Castle Rock.

Police are investigating this and patrols will be increased throughout Castle Rock school zones, officials said.

The Castle Rock Police Department is urging parents to remind children of the importance of not talking to strangers and to go to a safe place if approached.

Anyone who sees a suspicious person in a vehicle matching the description should call 911.
