MONUMENT, Colo. - A high-speed chase on Interstate 25 on Tuesday ended near Castle Rock.
State troopers said they were called about a stolen vehicle in the Colorado Springs area at 10:01 a.m.
Troopers said they spotted the vehicle about 20 minutes later near mile marker 151 on I-25.
The driver refused to stop and drove off at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour, according to Trooper Nate Reid.
Just south of Castle Rock, the vehicle suddenly stopped and the driver ran off on foot.
The driver was arrested a short time later.
Reid did not know why the vehicle suddenly stopped, if there was a mechanical issue or if OnStar was able to turn the vehicle off.
