LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. - A 63-year-old man was killed when he lost control of his motorcycle on a curve and crashed in Larimer County on Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
The wreck happened at 3:32 p.m. as a man on a 2012 Harley-Davidson was traveling westbound at a high rate of speed on Larimer County Road 38E, west of Westridge Drive, the Colorado State Patrol said.
The motorcycle entered a curve, veered off the left side of the roadway and overturned, sending the rider flying, the State Patrol said.
The rider, Trifone Lessa, of La Mesa, Calif., was pronounced dead at the scene, the State Patrol said. He was wearing eye protection, but was not wearing a helmet. Investigators don't believe drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash.
