Park County Sheriff's Office: Georgia kidnapping victim found safe in Colo.

PARK COUNTY, Colo. - The Park County Sheriff's Office said it found a kidnapping victim in Colorado and put her on a plane back home to Georgia Thursday morning.

Investigators said they got a tip Wednesday from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that a kidnapping suspect and victim were in Park County.  The victim was identified as the daughter of the suspect's ex-wife.

Deputies arrested Michael Dempsey, 35,  in the South Park Ranches subdivision on a kidnapping arrest warrant out of Georgia, officials said.  A warrant for Custodial Interference had been issued for Dempsey on June 26.

According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Dempsey and the teen might have dyed their hair in an effort to throw off investigators.  NCME said the girl might have been using the alias Lexi Dempsey while they were being sought.

They were believed to have been traveling on a motorcycle, the NCME said.

Deputies said the kidnapping victim was in good physical condition.
