Officers chase suspects after shots fired in Denver

DENVER - A police chase in the middle of the night ended when the driver crashed into an auto repair shop's fence.

Denver police said officers were trying to stop a van around 1:30 a.m. near Evans Avenue and Raritan Street when someone fired a gun out of the vehicle. No one was hit or hurt.

Investigators said officers chased the vehicle, but called off the chase for safety reasons.

That van was found crashed 10 miles away at Gomez Auto Repair near 65th Avenue and Federal Boulevard.

When officers arrived, they said the suspect or suspects were gone.

Officers from Denver Police, Westminster Police, the Colorado State Patrol and the Adams County Sheriff's Office set up a perimeter and searched the area for about two hours, but did not make any arrests.
