DENVER - Denver police said they found a man dead in the apartment where shots were fired through the front door in the Cheesman Park area.
The flurry of shots came around 2:30 p.m. and a standoff began.
Hours later, the man body was found inside the apartment, police said in a tweet at 8 p.m. Thursday.
Earlier, Denver Police were in the area of 11th and Race Street but lost contact with the shooter. They had tried unsuccessfully to contact the shooter on cell phones or on the telephone.
Multiple shots were fired initially, but police said no one was hit.
This neighborhood is located on the northeast side of Cheesman Park.
