Shopper accused of taking envelope of customer's cash from Family Dollar store in Gypsum

GYPSUM, Colo. - Deputies are looking for a female thief who allegedly took an envelope of cash that wasn't hers.

A woman told deputies at the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office that she had an envelope of cash with her at the Family Dollar Store in Gypsum on Mother's Day weekend when she went shopping.

The woman said she put the envelope on the counter and forgot to pick it back up when she was checking out.

Deputies said they reviewed the store’s surveillance videos and saw another woman take the envelope from the counter and leave the store.

The victim said the envelope had more than $500 in it.
