Shoplifters choke Target clerk in Greenwood Village, fill shopping cart with electronics

GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. - Greenwood Village Police are asking for the public's help in identifying shoplifters who choked a Target clerk into unconsciousness and then escaped out a back door with a shopping cart full of merchandise.

According to Metro Denver Crime Stoppers, the incident happened on Feb. 6, at 10 p.m.

The two white males, wearing red shirts and khaki pants, entered the Target Store at 6767 South Clinton Street and asked a clerk to open the electronics merchandise case so they could look at some high-end Beats Headphones.   The headphones typically range in price from $200 to $400.

When the clerk bent over to open the case, one of the suspects grabbed the employee from behind by his neck, causing him to lose consciousness, according to Crime Stoppers. The other suspect filled a shopping cart with merchandise.

The suspects ran out the rear emergency exit to an awaiting vehicle behind the store.
