DENVER - Denver police swiftly arrested a suspect in a shooting on the Denver-Aurora border Thursday night.
7NEWS reporter Marshall Zelinger reported from the scene at 8:30 p.m. that police had handcuffed a man at Alton Street and East 12th Avenue in Denver -- just three blocks from the shooting scene.
A crime-scene technician swabbed the suspect's face for evidence before he was transported in a patrol car to police headquarters, reported 7NEWS photojournalist Eric Hoffman.
Police said the shooting may be gang-related.
Denver police spokesman Detective John White said the shooting was reported near East 13th Avenue and Xenia Street in Denver about 6:45 p.m.
But it appears the wounded victim some how walked about five blocks east to Boston Street in Aurora.
The gunshot victim was transported to a hospital and was stable, White said.
Both Denver and Aurora officers were combing the area for evidence and potential witnesses.
