FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Deputies say an intoxicated Uber passenger went on a crime spree in Fort Collins after stealing the driver’s car.

Meagan Osgood, 25, of Broomfield, was arrested on several charges including motor vehicle theft and DUI. She is accused of stealing an Uber driver’s car from the 700 block of Glenn Ridge Drive in Fort Collins around 2:40 a.m. Saturday.

Deputies say when the Uber driver arrived at the destination, Osgood began fighting with other passengers and refused to exit the vehicle. The driver got out to break up the fight and Osgood locked the doors.

Deputies say she then drove the vehicle through a yard striking a retaining wall, a tree, and landscaping. The Uber driver stated he had to jump out of the way to prevent being run over prior to Osgood driving away.

Police finally caught up with suspect at North College Avenue and Myrtle Street, where officers had to use pepperballs to get her to comply to commands. Osgood was put in cuffs and transported to the hospital for evaluation. The suspect was later booked into the Larimer County Jail.

The Uber driver’s car was recovered but sustained heavy front-end damage.
